Living Artfully

Living Artfully

Residents working from home have the option to occupy a private pod, spread out in the study, or relax in lounge seating. The variety of seating groups offers flexibility for different work styles, and for socializing when their workday is done.

A sculptural installation of custom-made paint cans crafted by local artist Andrew Bablo pays homage to the creative process, while becoming an art feature all on their own.

Redefining a Yountville original

Redefining a Yountville original

The new logo is a hand-rendered potted olive tree, a familiar sight in the Valley. It is a welcoming gesture, anchoring you in the landscape. We introduced a bright and cheerful yellow, an instantly recognizable feature, and illustrated an organic brand pattern of vibrant green olive branches.

The check-in experience was reimagined for guests to take advantage of the property’s magnificent location within Yountville. An illustrated map guides guests around town by foot or bicycle, highlighting the most unique - and delicious - things to do during their stay.

We completed a first-phase of an interior guest room renovation, introducing warm and bright walls, rustic wood beams, and classic fireplaces perfect for sharing a local bottle. New window treatments were designed for increased ease of use and to frame the views of the vineyards and lush private courtyard.

We extended the brand to the website, designing a digital experience to match the warm, boutique feeling of being at the Lodge while highlighting the incredible bounty of its central location.

Pieces for Every Pursuit

The logo celebrates the edge of urban life with sharp serifs but remains approachable and warm with chunkier lowercase letterforms. The sweeping flourish, representing the ties that bind us together, emphasizes the ‘co’ in all our walks of life: friends, colleagues, partners, communities.

Quarrying for Flavor on the Coast of Maine

Quarrying for Flavor on the Coast of Maine

The actual causeway connects the mainland to Clark Island, where granite was quarried for decades. We looked to this industrial past for our graphic reference, pulling old typography and lettering from state directories printed the year of its construction, and designing a menu system around found stonecutters invoices.

The single biggest change was the addition of a bar. Now, guests have a place to gather for a cocktail or informal meal. But the best part is the bar window. Situated as so, the end of the bar becomes an outdoor counter where guests can order from outdoors. This proved to be an enormously successful change and gave guests more ways to enjoy a drink or snack, not to mention gave the restaurant additional income. We affectionately call this the Clark Bar, and it deserved a look of its own.

The visual identity speaks to the botanical's powers with rippling and undulating forms, but remains elegant. The products were designed to be proudly displayed, not hidden away.

As part of the retail concept, a plush consultation room was designed for privacy and comfort to discuss specific needs and to better facilitate product education while shopping.

A long center island is an inviting place to sit and experience the boutique products. Sales staff retrieve products from locked cases to comply with regulations, but the overall experience is one of collaboration and exploration.

Positive Change, One Spoonful at a Time

Positive Change, One Spoonful at a Time

Sticking to strict principles about forming a company with a lighter environmental footprint, all soup containers had to be reusable, or made with post-consumer content and easily recycleable. Labels were designed to fit containers that met the right criteria and create a distinct and recognizable personality.
